Best oil weight

I run Castrol syntech 5w50 year round. Motor starts at -30C with no problem.
It can stand +35C with no problem. As a bonus, the oil temperature gauge
shows that the motor oil runs cooler, never above 120C, than with dino oil
(130C-140C).

I sure appreciate the oil info, once again I was advised
wrongly by a non-lister mechanic, he said because it
was synthetic I could go lighter.  I not be listnin' to him
no more..

It might be subjective, but it seems like the car runs
smoother now with the synth in it than with the dyno.
