newbie here well kind of

The Cosmos silver is the color, and I was talking to my wife's dad today,
and he said that my wife's old Scirocco the car she had in high school a
mark 2 is still there. He did not know much about the car except it is out
front and runs. He drives it a little but wants to get rid of it. If I
want it it is free. It is not in great condition but does have the "bigger
motor" what ever that is. Will it fit? and is it the same? One reason I am
interested in this car is my wife is having our first baby in a few weeks,
so the miata gets to go to my dad who is selling our Austin-Healey 100-6 if
anyone is interested. I will get a new everyday car a Saturn from him in
trade for the miata and money from the Healey. So the VW will take the
miata's place as a fun car. Will a kid fit in the back?
The car I am looking at looks just like the car under photo's MK1, 2nd row,
2nd pic. Same color same front spoiler and all.
