bottom end inspection...



Hey Pauly,

  Sorry to hear about this mess... this is the same kind of
crap that I finally have gotten through with my 2l build/rebuild
project.  I had a rod bearing spin which ruined the crank in
my case... 

If the crank does have to be removed I'm afraid to tell you that
the engine must be pulled.  Is the only real means to remove the
head and then pull the pistons/rods and clutch/trans.

I suppose that you could get the crank out with it still in the
car, but I can't imagine that being a time-saving thing to try.

I sure hope that your problem is just a simple one... and not as
bad as it possibly sounds.
