16v over heating

<html><div style='background-color:'><DIV>With the recent increase in temps Vic has been getting hot and bothered rather frequently of late. The system very well could have gotten air into it when my alternator fan shattered and severed the upper rad hose (ask me obout this over a cold one...) but I re-filled it and have put at least 500 miles on it since. The oil temp runs at 110 and the water temp indicator resides fully above the LED but several times a day the temps will spike, first the coolant followed by the oil temp going to 120 or more. Turning on the heater core usualy controlls these fits of sillieness but occasionaly, especialy if I park the car while it's in mid heat, it will puke up a whole bunch of coolant. </DIV>
<DIV>I'm sure it's been mentioned before but what's a sure fire way to burp the system?</DIV>
