trans flange problem

Did you check the condition of the flange itself? If any visible groove is worn into the flange, it needs to be replaced(check with www.parts4vws.com for a new one). Also, if there was a lot of play in the differential shaft, you could have bad differential bearings which cause the flanges to wiggle around inside the seals, which destroys them. Lastly, the seal may have just not gotten seated in there good. Maybe it's time for a 5-speed? HTH,

When I replaced my clutch a few months ago, I replaced the seals on both
flanges, the drivers side one was leaking like a sieve. Well, it's doing it
again and I've maybe driven it 100 miles since the clutch change. It's a 4
speed BTW. Anyone have any ideas on why this flange seal keeps leaking? I
have an autoX event next weekend and would like to flog it for the day, but
don't think I can with this leak.

TIA,
