idle air valve.

  i was talking to a guy from vortex last night who said he wanted to try to 
remove the idle air valve from his roc. my understanding of fuel injection 
is that this part is needed, that the car will not idle without it. is there 
a substitue or way of eliminating the idle air valve that i missed somewhere 
along the line?
