small boost set-up with CIS-E??

Works great.

Take an Audi 5000 turbo manifold (dirt cheap at the wreckers) and cut the
5th runner and the waste gate connector. Reweld the waste gate connector
to where the 5th runner used to be and bold it up. It matches perfect.

If you want to make a real easy setup, you can simply weld the 5th runner
shut, it will hang off the edge of the head and not even get in the way.
Looks strange but perfectly functional.

This way you can use a KKK turbo (grab the 5K one as they are also cheap),
and the Audi waste gate. All you need is to weld yourself up a down pipe
to funnel the waste gate into and you are pretty much set.

Change over to straight CIS with the old 2 port distributor that can retard
your timing, and grab the 5K boost sensitive warm up regulator.

If you really want to experiment with boost (I am going to try this a
little later):

Grab the 5K fuel distributor, use the 5th port for your extra injectors (I
have 2 plumbed in equally along the top of the intake manifold - 1 for each
2 intake ports) and control them with an AIC
I was looking at these guys for a cheap Additional fuel injector
controller. Their price is nice, but not sure if the product is good or
not....

But you won't need that to run up to about 8 or 9 psi. Just make sure you
have a decent engine to start or it will fail on you pretty fast :)

Hi Jesse;
I have been told by Max at Audi Volkswagen Specialists in Adna WA that
the easy way to get a turbo manifold for a 4 cylinder engine is to get the
turbo manifold off an Audi 5000 gas 5 cylinder engine and just cut off the
end port and weld on a plate to cover the hole.

Subject: small boost set-up with CIS-E??

hey me and a friend were thinking of doing a small cheap turbo set up on
his prelude and if it works out good maybe do one on my car in the near
future.. so my question.. how well will the stock CIS-E fuel system on my
84 Scirocco fare with about 5psi boost max? will it be sufficient for a
turbo set up?

also I have a a1 dual outlet manifold and the stock 4-1 "toilet bowl" off
my car.. what one would be better to weld up as a turbo mani.??
thanks
