When/why we need x-member bracing



Andrew,
That looks like bad paint to me. To the right where the rust is looks
typical of an area that had been repaired and glazed for the final paint.
The glaze gets some moisture in it and soon you have cracked paint. My guess
is that this car was in a minor bender and that area was repainted.
