I finally fouund them, 1977 MKI Scirocco pics

RE: the missing passenger rear view mirror:
I drilled a couple of holes (3 actually) in just the right spot, per Bently
and put on a remote mirror.  A mirror of the drivers side, pun intended.
Worked out pretty good.  I just like the symetrical look.
