MK1 Zender kit pics

The rabbit spoiler is more like rubber than plastic. I cut the sides
down to fit and it rests against the fender flare which is quite wide at
the
bottom front.

I'll try that link again with brackets

Hot damn, dude... That looks... simply fantastic! You're making me
reconsider not installing mine! Maybe I ought to. Wow... :^D What's the
deal
with the flared ends of the GTI front spoiler, though? How'd you get
then to
flare out like that?

After a long week of fixing and sanding, I finished installing the
zender kit on my Mk1. I ended up using the rabbit GTI front spoiler for
now because the zender one is in about 10 pieces and is missing a few
that I'll have to fill with fiberglass. The right rear arch doesn't fit
quite right because the body wasn't repaired correctly at some point in
its life. It's pretty rusty there and on the other side as well, so
I'll have to weld in some new metal anyways.

The rear bumper was in bad shape, so I took it off. I like the look
without it, similar to a corvette as it curves back under the car. As I
fix the rust down there, I may build in a thin 1" square tubing bumper
then cover it with sheet from the lip and blend down the rear valence.
The pics don't show, but there are countless paint chips, dents and rust
all over. I think I'm going to start repairing them 1 panel at a time.
I tried to do the body work on the previous MK1 shell I had, but taking
on too big of a project just discourages me. Baby steps. (like bill
murray)
