cutting the alt bracket for non a/c

 i saw on a site about cutting down the alt. bracket and moving the alternator down to the compressor spot when removing the a/c. anyone done this? what did you use to cut the bracket? it seems pretty solid. also do you have any pictures of where you cut it?
