Spark Plugs - pre ignition issue

I'm a little skeptical here.
Why are you running 36 degrees advance and wishing for more?
Advance at WOT above 3500 RPM should be in the low 30's.

Ignition advance is not a case of more is better. If you're using low octane
gas (you're not) or have a really high CR (you don't) then you may want as
much advance as you can get. But, you've got good gas and a relatively low
CR so you should run the advance that is optimum for power. In the low 30's
(unless I'm totally mistaken and the 8V has a great combustion chamber that
is best at 32 degrees and the 16V chamber sucks in comparison).
I'm just harping on this cause there are way too many people that think more
ignition advance and more fuel is always better. In both cases there is an
optimum amount that is not necessarily the most you can get.
If you know you will make more power at 36 or higher that's fine. But, don't
just crank in more advance cause "more is always better!"
just my .02
