PROPORTIONING VALVES on 16v



To the best of my knowledge the "proportioning valves" mounted on an 8v's master cyl are actualy some sort of check valve. The porpose of these wee little bundles of joy is said to be keeping good pedal feel/preventing the shoes from retracting too far from the drum.
 
correct/slap me if I'm wrong :)

On the 8V's both proportioning valves are on the master cylinder.
On the 16V's (mine at least) one is on the master cylinder and the other is
inline. It's positioned below the coolant expansion tank and above the end
of the tranny.
Take another look.
