Now, THAT's a very nicely executed hood scoop. It may not be 100% =
efficient, but it looks GOOD.
(well done...and don't change the color!)

    We put a hood scoop on the MkI of my youngest son. It is a =
low-profile unit and doesn't do much. I'm not an aerodynamicist, I do =
know that unless a scoop in the middle of the hood sticks up at least =
2-3 inches, it's sitting in a fairly dead air zone. You need a =
high-pressure location (such as the bottom of the windshield) or a =
high-flow area (such as a TALL, pro-stock type scoop....that's why the =
pro-stock builders use the tall scoops)

      I'm investigating different mounting locations for the intercooler =
in my=20
      Scirocco, and one of the options is above the transaxle in =
approximately=20
      the same location as the Golf GTD. The golf uses ducting to route =
air=20
      from the grille area over the intercooler. I've considered =
installing a=20
      hood scoop to bring fresh air directly onto it.

      Does anyone have any experience with installing hood scoops? Any =
idea=20
      where to buy one that would fit the Scirocco's profile without =
looking=20
      reminiscent of a 77 Firebird (Sorry Cathy?) How much dinero?

      Drew
