anyone have experience with hood scoops?

I'm investigating different mounting locations for the intercooler in my 
Scirocco, and one of the options is above the transaxle in approximately 
the same location as the Golf GTD.  The golf uses ducting to route air 
from the grille area over the intercooler.  I've considered installing a 
hood scoop to bring fresh air directly onto it.

Does anyone have any experience with installing hood scoops?  Any idea 
where to buy one that would fit the Scirocco's profile without looking 
reminiscent of a 77 Firebird (Sorry Cathy?)  How much dinero?
