Quite OT: NYTimes.com Article: TV Ads Say S.U.V. Owners Support Terrorists

Sorry dude, but I beg to differ. I believe we will get the V-10 TDI. This
last summer and a few times since then when driving on I-70 west of Denver,
towards Vail,CO, and I-25 between Pueblo,CO and Denver, I came up on 3 VW
Touregs, 1 of them being the V-10 TDI (suprisingly they left the badge on
the back, and a huge ploom of black smoke erupted when it shifted gears). I
was in a slightly tricked out MKIV Golf and stayed with them through the
mountains. They were engineers road testing them. VWs testing facility for
the U.S. is in Arizona, and sure enough, they had AZ plates.

Now I know this doesn't mean for sure we will get it, but why road test it
over here if you're not gonna bring it over to sell?

That same trip and since then too, I have also come across a pack of 3 of
the new Porsche SUVs, the Cheyennes? Anyway, these were all de-badged and
the guys driving these seemed to be having some fun. I pulled steady with
one guy, gave him the thumbs up (I was in my 16v Rocco), and he dropped the
fucking hammer on me. He took off from 75mph and kept pulling away from me
until we hit 90, then I don't know if I could have taken him or if he was
just backing off. anyway, still cool as hell though.

just thought I would share a story.
