Track Day - anyone ever go to one of these? (this one Willow Springs)

I've been to one of them last year. worth the $100 IMHO. Plenty of track
time...nice people, no issues on the track(ie...everyone plays safe)

So show all you Nor-cal guys! I'm planning on going to the 21st event. Wanna
come play? ;-0

Shawn....you going?

I dont have any feedback for you on these guys. They might be the outfit
that Potterman was instructing for when he rolled in the focus? Dunno but
they do seem to do alot of events at Buttonwillow so they probably are
OK.
There are pro's and cons to doing these events.

Con:
You dont know them or their abilities.
you dont know the platform of instruction they offer, if any for FWD?
how much track time? (I think the web page says so.)
Who are the guys you will be running with on the track?
Similar cars or will you spend all youe time watching youe mirrors
getting lapped by all the M3's?

Pro's:
It is track time!
Buttonwillow is a great track. (Thats enough for me to go, heh!)
$100 isnt much plus hotel? affordable weekend.
Its kinda close to you. So is dubwar but..... (never mind.)

If track time is what you want then I can offer you this package.

<Racerfactory.com> Last weekend of March.
$225 (Pay before Feb 15 otherwise its $250) for 2 full days of track
time.
About 5 hours total track time.
Saturday lunch provided.
Intense classroom instruction plus track instruction.
Many instructors to pick from and when the instructors go drive in their
run group you can ride with (any of) them.
Mostly VW and Audi's so the cars are similar and the peeps are cool.
There will be some non VW Audi's there, not many.
Sat night GTG for dinner which is cool.

There is a Video on Al's site..... (Thanks dude!)

This is the dialup version, smaller and poorer quality but its only 8mb.

This is for all the high speed DSL and better people. 35mb, high quality
video. Enjoy!

Check it out and see what you think. Sorry for the total advertisement
but I wanted to offer this to Scirocco.org peeps and mostly, you sorta
asked. :)

Maybe we should make THAT our GTG? Whats better than a track FULL of
Scirocco's?
