backfire aftermath

Only if the explosion was inside the crankcase.  Normally, backfires =
occur in the exhaust system and don't damage oil-control item.
Do a compression check.

  an hour or more a day and she's still smoking pretty badly. the smokes =

  thick grey and smells like oil. could i have damaged the rings or =

  with the backfire?
