Todays misadventure ( a bit long)

My state inspection was due last month so I needed to get an inspection
done toady. Drive into work, zoom into my regular parking lot - Bam! I
hit a giant pot hole. No wheel damage so I think all is well. This
afternoon I go to get my car for the inspection and the battery is dead
- great. Go back and get a "jump box", hook it on and the fan starts
right away with the engine totally cold. I guess the relay is bad or
something, so I just unplug the fan. I notice that the little nick in
my new windshield is now a foot long crack. That's not going to pass
inspection, but even if I have a rejection sticker that will save me
from a ticket. It turns out the the ball joint I put on about 9 months
ago is bad. I thought I had gotten some good ones, but I guess not. At
least I don't have to drill the rivets out this time. After the failed
inspection, I figure I'd let my car run to charge up the battery. I
turn on the flashers so i don't forget about it running. After about a
half hour I look at my car and there is a giant cloud around it! I
forgot to plug back in the fan! All seems OK, but a strange thing
happened. The flashers stopped flashing. It was like the relay got
over heated or something. I guess I'll be under the car this week end,
I hope it stays kinda warm.
Thanks for reading about my day.
