Cheating the sniffer?

Hello my name is Ray Miller... Wiliam asked this question for me... and this
system is in a '81 S Scirocco with a 2L with a 1.8 head.
The entire exhaust system is new including the TT street header, cat and
Borla muffler. On the 1st test it failed on NO-ppm at 25mph and 50mph. The
reading were 2024 and 3222 respectively and allowable limits were 1592 and
1744. On the 2nd try I decreased the timing to 0 degrees from 6 degrees and
the reading went to 1376 and 2837. So I passed at 25 mph and failed at
50mph. I appreciate all the help!!
