Slow to rev and 4000 rpm max under load - Ideas to cure? Now cured but o...

I used a Victor Reinz or an Ehlring last time and the bolts were torqued to spec. This time its dealer G60 gasket!

And use a high quality german gasket, don't go cheap on this, and follow proper torqeing procedures.  I did mine when I was 16 and didn't know jack about working on cars, but I used the best gasket I could find and followed the bentley manual and 7 years later its still fine.
