Sciroccos (and Golf/Rabbit rag tops) were built by Wilhelm Karmann in
Osnabrueck, Germany under contract to VW. See: http://www.karmann.com/
for more information.  Karmann has produced cars for Porsche, BMW,
Mercedes, many other European auto firms, as well as VW.  Typically
deals with limited production models that would be too costly for high
capacity facilities to deal with.
