Will MKII seats fit in an MKI?

You should be able to eliminate the play with the proper bushing. There
is/was a bushing that fits between the seat slider and the mount where the
seat position selector is. It is fairly rare to see these in a car from the
factory as our cars are so old and since the bushing is a high wear piece.
I would gather that they are rather easily obtained through the dealer or
local enthusiast shop or maybe even special order through a local parts
store.

I've had Scirocco 2, GTI, GLI, etc. seats in my Rabbit and would suspect
that the only difference between the different seats is ride height. The
Sciroccos sit lower so it would be recommended to swap seats between
Sciroccos unless you're 4'8" then you may want a little boost so you could
install Golf or Jetta seats. The best way to check to see if it is to your
liking is to install them??!! It ain't tough to pull out a seat and install
another.

On a side note, I have a rear 50/50 black leather seat in great shape, a
driver's side black leather in MINT shape, and another entire leather
interior available in the NW. Email for prices.

Sports Content: Go Seahawks!! Sorry GB fans! Oh, and it was WAY too funny
to see the the Rams get stomped by the Lions, but not NEAR as funny as
seeing the Vikings get beat by a team that only won 4 games all season AND
knock them out of the playoffs!! Too funny!

I have them in mine. MUCH better :)
The rears have a different mount system at the top of the seat, the bottoms
ok though.
The fronts mount but have about 1/8" of play on the front mount.
