Scirocco-l Digest, Vol 8, Issue 23

I certainly don't make "so much"... wish I did.

Fixing errors on the "official factory" manuals can be a difficult process; newer stuff requires checking with Germany since they're the source. We're a pretty small company divided into several divisions; the group doing the VW manuals is just a handful of people (Stan, Art, sometimes Peter...all early VW owners, like me). They're busy enough keeping up with the new stuff; if you've got specific changes and error reports, email us and we'll try to incorporate them in the next printing. I don't know how old your paper copy is, but it must have been reprinted 5 times (with corrections each time).

We've got web forums and some update files on our web site:
http://www.bentleypublishers.com/tech/
If you've got "annoyances" with the product, put them there; they don't go searching the internet lists for random comments.

an example of one of the things I put up there two years back is:
http://www.bentleypublishers.com/tech/VW/bentley.vw.fuse.panel.rear.1984-1993.htm
Fuse/Relay Panel - Rear Connections

Another is

http://www.bentleypublishers.com/tech/VW/vw.a1.scirocco.jetta.1984.ele.fuse.panel.htm

Fuse panel, 1984 Scirocco and Jetta

(includes your '84 on Scirocco).

The paper service manual is $55 full list price; you can find it much cheaper through a supplier, or used on ebay. Can't say I find that overpriced. I guess I don't understand your attitude either.

Well Bentley shouldn't pay you so much....maybe then they could drop the rediculous prices of their manuals? Oh, how about fixing errors and having correct wiring diagrams?

Sorry, you acting as copywrite cop kinda got my goat, and, seeing as you work for a subdivision of the company, maybe you can voice our annoyances with thier product.

Anyway, Happy Holidays, no matter which one you celebrate!

I have a copy of the Bently Manual for all Scirocco's and Cabriolet's
from 1985 to 1993 on CD as a PDF file. I checked it out and it is a
great version! Any on the site that own a 85 - 93 need this. It
doesn't get torn up and greasy!! To members I will send you a copy on
CD for only $5. Email me and I will provide PayPal instructions.
