Howdy,

"And now back to our regularly scheduled program......." (meaning
an actual tech question).

Been having issues w/ my cooling system since about mid summer.
Had a thermo switch go bad and after replacement it would NOT start the
radiator fan (check wiring, I know), BUT if the A/C was turned on w/
interior fan set at "1" it would run the radiator fan.
So the low-tech cheapass (don't mean to be impinging on your
territory Ron) solution was to pull the thermostat and use the air
conditioner. This worked until the new thermo switch was tested, which
worked once and then never again (and I soooo look forward to tracing the
circuits) so the cheapass solution stayed in effect UNTIL it blew a hole
in my radiator (when this happened is not pinpointed).
At that time it was out to the boneyard and get the radiator out
of a 82-83 monowiper thats fins were made from iron rather than alum. and
it was wider (I've seen some for sale online that look like this one and
are billed for "heavy duty" cooling).
It's worked for a while but is exhibiting leak symptoms (what I
get for being cheapass) so it's time for a final proper solution. This
involves a new radiator (as well as low temp thermo switch and rad. fan
wiring bought from Patrick during his last parts purge), hence the subject
question.
Those that I have found online from places like parts4vws and
germanautoparts are ranging from $79.00-$102.50 (b4 tax and shipping)and I
was wondering if there were any other outlets I should try in this quest?

Chillin', illin', and in deparate need of an Italian tune-up by the end of
this,

Tim
