Cold-start ?'s and possibility of reconditioning window seals(sorta long)

Looked at the diagram...there is on Motronic a wire for start signal, IF you have an auto tranny....what car did your swap come from?  I may have found my culprit, cause I think my 2.0 and injection came from an automatic passat...not sure, I'll do the normal tests first, and think about that wire last.
