Well...
Mine will be lockless, the only locks on the car will be on the gas cap,
and the trunk (just in case the battery dies)
The lock and unlock functions will be handled by the alarm. 
Besides if u get a half decent alarm they will have waterproof remotes.

from what i have experianced, generaly people install a back up switch
in an 
hidden area of the car incase of the remote dies. The biggest hassle is
if 
the car battery dies, then you hope you have a hatch back or a pass
through 
trunk.
