Flooded market with minimalistic roadsters?  No way. The Miata and Toyota
Spyder are the closest things I can think of and they are alot more bulky
than 1600lbs.. The market is flooded with SUVs and look at the Touareg. It's
a nice SUV and it should do well. No way they will ask $30K for a tiny car
with a normal 2.0L and no creature comforts. I think the fairly high target
price of  $20k will be due to the use of aluminum, Carbonfiber and
magnesium. and by the way stop referring to this concept car as the "New
Scirocco" because there is no resemblance in concept or design. I  am really
interested in this car in 2007.

When it comes out (IF it does, and I have some doubts) I'm guessing that
they will want at least $30K for it.

It will be a sales disappointment for VW (if not an outright disaster); the
market is already flooded with cars in this niche.
Don't sell the 'Roc...it's a cooler car.
