HELP! MkI Conversion to PS question...

OK...finally got the PS rack installed into my 1980, which was taken from a MkII. No real
problems in mounting it, but the driver's side seemed to go in a little tight.

When I turn the wheel I get a periodic bind; seems as though the lower U-joint in the steering
shaft is hitting something.

Sooo...I get to looking around. With the wheels off, when I look directly into the end of the
rack from the passenger side, the rack is centered in the hole where the tie rods pass through the
body. On the driver's side, the rack appears to be significanly biased to the rear of the
corresponding hole, so far that I fear that the rack boot will touch bodywork.

I thought maybe that a shim behind the driver's side mount would be required, but EKTA shows that
nothing is required.

Can someone have a peek at their car to tell me if this is an issue, or otherwise lend some
guidance?

Thanks

Ron
