Block interchangability

The Saab turbo is a T3 right?
The turbo we just installed on my nephew's JH is a T3, 50 trim compressor,
.63 AR on the turbine housing. It'll make boost at 2500 in 5th where
everything is happening really slow, but the turbo response is generally
slow. I would say not a good auto-x car. Maybe a .48 turbine housing would
pick the response up enough. Don't know.
As far as hooking up two turbos to run sequentially, I don't have a clue,
although my initial thoughts are that it won't be easy cause you're not only
turning on/off the flow of exhaust to the second turbo, but you also have to
turn on/off the flow of inlet air so it doesn't back flow through the second
turbo under low speed conditions. And that means you need to know when the
second turbo's output has reached the pressure in the manifold before you
let it actually flow air. And you need to get flowing air when it comes up
to pressue so it doesn't surge and take out the compressor. Sounds like a
PITA control system to me ;^)
So, when's the BBQ?
Dan
BTW, you do know that I'm incapable of doing things on the cheap, so you're
really going to have to keep a eye on me!
