We'll see.  Al and I haven't had a chance yet to talk about time schedules.
I know he is busy and I work ALL the time (I own my own company and the work
is never done.) Besides, with the heat here right now... it is killer, Bro
(common southern term used frequently amongst friends.) I hope to talk with
Al over the weekend and we can see what all I need to pick up other than
just the motor. I would like to replace a few things I haven't had time to
get to since purchasing the car last June, so this would be the best time
(belts, seals, etc.)

I have an 8v being delivered here on Saturday from Florida.  I know I am
going to want to check her out and toy with her for a few minutes this
weekend as well.

Al,

I have an appraisal your way this afternoon.  I will drive the Rocc and try
to stop in. If I don't make it by I will call you or drop you an email. If I
make it your way, I will call first to see if your there.

Going to be a big Rocc weekend here... 2.0L 16v motor arrives... 8v Rocc
delivered...  Reminds of something my Grandfather used to say...  "Happy as
a pup with two pe****" (Censored as to not offend anyone.)

Congrats on getting yours. I bet you loved the sight of the flat bed
baked
up and rolling her off the truck. (Like a kid on Christmas morning, I'm
sure.)  Keep us updated on how it goes!

I found one. Picking it up today in fact. It was located in another part
of
the state.  I am glad I asked about pricing.  I would have paid WAY too
much
for one locally.  They are even delivering to a local auto shop for
free.
The guy who owns the shop goes to my church and works on a couple of my
other cars (not the Rocc so far) so, he is receiving it from them with
no
charge either.  They new the place I found the motor at and assured me
they
have a good rep.  Both places do business on a weekly basis, so all
should
be good there.

I have already warned Al that it is on its way.  Are you ready?

the heat here is going to kill us.)

I just picked up a 1990 Passat with a blown automatic transmission.  The
car has 100k miles on it and otherwise looks like it is in great shape
(pics available on request).  I am hoping to put the 2.0l in the
Scirocco and part out the rest of the Passat.  The sheet metal and
interior are perfect.  It is almost worth trying to find an automatic
transmission for it.

Now I will really be bothering JT and Raffi with questions.  I think
Dave mentioned that Allyn is an expert in this conversion so I should
warn him too.

Finally, Dave keep up the search, you will find one and I hope as cheap
as this one was!
