2.0l 16V Swap Page?

First of all, if you're installing it into the 16v, I wouldn't even bother
going with the motronic. The CIS-E plugs right into the 2L setup. Any gains
via computer upgrades don't amount to making it worth the PITA effort to
convert.

I don't have experience with Motronic yet - though Raffi will doing his
within the next couple of months.

But, IMO, CIS-E vs. Motronic really doesn't matter from an installation
standpoint. You have to examine it on an abstract level.

- you have several components to make the engine operate, accelerate, etc.
All of those components are wired into the motronic/CIS-E harness (doesn't
matter) via their respective control boxes. As I mentioned earlier, the
later VWs ('84+) had the same base fuseboxes. The engine compartment crap is
all wired into one harness. This harness plugs into the fusebox. Other than,
IIRC, less than five other wires that are easily distinguishable from the
others, that's all it really is.

It really does become clear once you have the complete engine management
wiring separated from the fusebox.
