[tech] 16v rear brake q (damnit!)

nope.

Just replace your front brake caliper as a start and you should be ok.
Replace brake fluid, and brake strut-to-caliper hoses if they start to look
flakey/old. Buy quality pads.

Replace the brake master cylinder if needed, or if you have more $$ hanging
around, or if you are doing the rear disk brake conversion. It just makes
the pedal a bit firmer, but you will still have good braking action without
the upgraded master cylinder.

You will need 14" VW wheels.

Cheers.

=> okay, so the consensus is that i'll need a larger master
=>cylinder for the 16v front brakes. unfortunately i was planning
=>on placing the rear caliipers on another vehicle. will i need a
=>new master cylinder for that one, too? both are '86 8v's, btw. thanx.
