values of ron and octane

Hi Josh;
    I don't know much about Ron/Octane but I know that the present day gas
available at the pump is trash compared to what was available when I first
started hot rodding engines. Most of those on the list are too young I'm
sure to remember the days in the late 50's and 60's when you could just pull
up to the white pump in your Standard or Chevron station and fill up with
Chevron custom Supreme that had 103 octane. We ran 13 to 1 compression on
the street with nary a whimper from the engine and no one had even heard of
a knock sensor ignition.
