tie rod HELP!

The original is out of print, but as the new glue bound one in my office 
in NYC can attest they are in reprint..

"... if you have a 7(?) bug you need a special 24mm socket and .. good 
luck its in a tough spot. " we had to remove something and of course we 
had the shitty car...
