It gets a bit confusing, but here's the way I recall it:
US Dasher (called Passat in other parts of the world) = AUDI Fox = B1 Platform (1974-1981)
US VW Fox = Brasil Gol = Bx platform (late '80s early '90s in US) Very intersting car, the early Brasil ones had an air cooled engine (mounted in the front)!

Isn't the Dasher built on the Bx platform? I know we had a different
name for the B1 platform models here in the US.
