Transaxle rebuild questions



Ive used a screw driver wrapped in a thick towel before to lock the 5th
gear.  I don't really recommend it, but it works.  You could also put the
clutch plate onto the end of the input shaft of the tranny and lock it down
somehow.  Those end bolts are put on there with some real torque and they
are lock tighted to boot.  You are going to have a real hard time getting it
out.

You might also try one of those wonder strap wrench they are selling at
sears.  You could remove the output side of 5th and try to get one to fit
over the 5th.
