i dunno man, another full 1/4 turn would probably snap a head bolt or 2
i'd say go in 1/8th or even 1/16th increments

Some will tell you yes and some will say no. My thoughts and conduct =
in the shop are this: Composite headgaskets *may* tear near a water or =
oil hole.... only seen it once on another tech. Metal gaskets,.. none =
of us have had any problems. As a matter of fact,.. that is out =
*protocol* on minor head leaks where I work. Retorque first,... then =
tear it down. Since the ABA gaskets are two ply metal with composite in =
the middle IIRC,... I say twist them bolts in the correct order, (refer =
to Bentley if that'll help ya), I'd go a 1/4 turn and see what I got.
just my opinion. BTW,... my head hasn't leaked since mine was =
retorqued a year ago. =20

I was just looking at my 9a sitting in my garage and it got pretty =
cruddy over 1.5 years it was in my car. I have a sneaking suspicion part =
of that crud came from the head gasket area. I used the ABA gasket and =
it ran great when I took it out so I don't think I blew anything, but I =
was wondering if there was any way I could "adjust" the headbolts to =
make sure. Maybe just to make sure they're on torque or even maybe give =
'em a hair tighter?? Any thoughts?

    TIA, JT
