a moment for my poor Rocco

Sorry to hear of your loss.I've had my 85 8v since 1989 and it has never
seen winter. Not a spec of rust on body or mech. parts, which is pretty rare for
Montreal, and original paint that looks like new. It has been very reliable and
I've enjoyed upgrading it with a few performance parts( which I find really
cheap compared to alot of other cars and newer VWs). The return of fun vs $
invested has been enormous! Sure it has a few quirks, but tons of soul.
All the time I've had it, I've parked it outside overnight maybe a douzen times
and have been anxious each time.People in my building think I'm a little strange
because I keep my Mercedes on the street while the VW parks in doors. They don't
realize that the Mercedes is replaceable, but the Scirocco is not. Only a
Scirocco owner knows this.
