16v spark plug wire holder

While struggling with one of those pain-in-the-ass spring clamps on a
water hose, I got pissed off that I couldn't see anything (I'm not used to
working in a dark garage) and I leaned the halogen work light I was using
over so it illuminated the clamp below.

A couple seconds later I noticed the smell of burning plastic and I
realized the lamp was touching the spark plug wire plastic cover thingy.

Luckily, the cover saved my expensive wires, but it got all melted and
deformed. So, I either need to replace it or come up with some other
solution to prevent the wires from chafing away.

I *know* I've seen 16v engine bays that don't have this cover but I can't
find any pictures of such engines in my personal photo archive.. what do
people use? Zip ties? Velcro straps?

The stock piece never really fit my 8mm eurosport wires since they are 1mm
too big (great idea, no?) so I had to very carefully snap the cover over
them so they wouldn't get all dented and messed up where the cover pinched
them. If I can find some other semi-elegant solution I would be delighted.
