(A little OT) Screwy electrical problem---HELP!!

Having the coil disconnected shouldn't matter. The power
comes from and the signal returns to the ICM (Ignition
Control Module). The ICM triggers the coil.

Yeah, something is screwy. Did you run all the tests in
the Bentley? Power to the ICM, flashing LED, etc?

|My 86 GTi is not getting any spark, and I have switched
|over all components with known good ones(coil, ign.
|switch,ign. dist.,ECU,knock box,ign.
|module, starter, alternator),but with no luck.I just tested
|the harness plug into the ign. dist. today for power(with
|ign. on),and even with the ign. coil disconnected, there
|is power at all 3 wires at the ign. dist. plug. What would
|cause this to happen?? Where would be the best place to
|start looking for a problem?? Thanks in advance! Ken
