OT: Question for the Americans

HERE HERE,

Well said Ron. I'm active duty military(Navy) and work in the INTEL
business here in DC. This idea of these initiatives by the current
administration stroking the polls are absolute BS. I see the INTEL, have
written some of the reports being touched on in the media. I get home from
work and my wife kinda looks at me, all I can say is "what's up?" I've been
in that area of the world and have personally seen what the normal Joe
citizens think about us, as well as what the military hard liners think
about us. This stuff is for real, and there is no easy solution. General
Patton once said "A good plan executed violently is infiniately(-2sp) better
than the perfect plan not executed at all." I'm thankful to God that we
have a President with the ballz and the administration to take these matters
for action. With our cast and crew in the Congress, the perfect plan will
never materialize.

Am I stoked about the fact that we may be at war, again? Not really, but if
it's what we have to do, then I'm all for it. I feel I can speak from a
very in the know perspective as I'm 85% sure I will (along with more than a
few of my good friends and co-workers) be heading over, again, in the next
couple months for some work in the region.

The UN is jacked. IMHO GW is doing an awesome job with what he has to work
with. Keep it up W.

As for the point of why they hate us. This is just a dumb analogy I came up
with. How many of you hate the Yankees, baseball fans or not? They have it
all, money, players, championships, but I venture to say most people can't
stand the Yankees, no particular reason, just because they have it all.

Lastly, especially today, pray for the nation.

laterz...
Chuck

Sorry boys, we are not suffering economically from a single thing Bush
has or has not done. Clinton rode Reagan's economic success until the
end of his term when the bubble burst.

If we'd had intelligence (both CIA and in the White House during the
Clinton years this thing would never have gotten to where it is today.
Bush is not a warmonger, but he's faced with thwarting a threat that's
been allowed to grow *far* too long. I am not in favor of a war but
what are the consequences of doing nothing (again)?

AFA the Golden Rule, when I see folks gleefully dancing in the street
over the deaths of my innocent countrymen, well, whose side am I on?
There's no kissy-kissy kumbaya stuff here, it's already seen to be life
and death. And not of soldiers, of our innocent daddies and mommies.
And kids, it ain't over.

Remember, the best defense is a good offense. The wisdom is in its
use.

Do I want war? No. Do I hate Arabs? No. Can I understand the
extremist hate for Americans? No, not really, but I know we're not the
most loved folks in the world when our wallets are removed from the
evaluation (but then again, smallmindedness is nearly as rampant
overseas as it is here - most of the folks I've met overseas who are
disdainful of Americans have never been here to know and walk amongst
us).

So...George, please tread forcefully but carefully. Don't back down.
The lives of my wife and kids and my countrymen - and the futures of
many Arabs - depend on it.
