Hard Shifting

Guys and gals,

I'm glad to report that I finally got my 2.0l 8V swap complete. It's not
nearly as fast as the 16V but whatever...

Nonetheless, I've having a hard time shifting into gears. I definitely know
it's not the linkages. When the car is not running, it will shift into
gears without any problems. Actually, I have to shut the car down in order
to get the tranny into first..lol! It seems like the clutch is somewhat
engaging. When it's in first gear with the clutch pedal engaged, the car
will slowly roll forward. If it's in reverse, it will do the same only in
reverse. It will grind into reverse and needs to be forced into 1st and
second. This will only occur when the motor is running. When the car is
not running, it will shift into gear with no problems.

So what do you guys suggest? Tranny fluid was replaced with some Redline.
I checked it on the weekend and it looked brownish. The clutch, and
pressure plate are brand spanking new. I've also tried to adjust the clutch
but to no avail. I've also adusted the linkages, replaced the bushings and
installed new linkage arms.

My other options I'm thinking is that the clutch release mechanism is
failing or I need to adjust the selector shaft as found on the top of the
tranny. Anyone have any other ideas or suggestions? I'm at a loss here and
just completely frustrated by this whole project. Anyone?
