Bulb color temperature

Has anyone experimented with different bulbs to fine the whitest light 
without being going into the annoying blue HID wannabe lights?... I 
remember Allyn mentioning some Philips bulbs but I'm not sure which ones. 
I'm trying to figure out what bulbs to use that would give the best white 
light without being blue... any comments?

I have Sylvania CoolBlue lights right now which, contrary to their name, 
are not blue at all...
