Low idle solved

The low idle issue was not caused by a bad cold start system.

In fact, it was caused by a... (geez this is embarrassing)... low idle
setting.

I tested the coldstart this AM, checked EVERYTHING for a possible vaccuum
leak, made sure the vaccuum advance was pulling vaccuum, then decided in the
dark shade of the early morning to check the timing since the engine was now
warm.

It was set about 2-3 degrees BTDC. <aack!>

Lesson learned: don't try checking/setting timing without properly dark
underhood conditions.

That should get me a few votes for the IoM award (Idiot of the Month).

PS> The light backfire seems to have been somewhat dampened, perhaps 50% or
so. I am still considering that.
