missing linkz short shifter

i just ordered a missing linkz short shifter, only to find out today that my stock relay shaft is different than the one in the picture. mine angles towards the driver's side, then forward another inch, then towards the passenger side. is this a normal relay shaft? because the only ones ive seen are straight forward. if i replace it with a straight relay shaft, will the arm reach its destination?
