what years was this available???

I bud of mine has a Rocco with the CIS on it,but there is NO electrical =
connection at the fuel dist. at all.What years & models of VW's was this =
available??? All of the other dubs I've seen have at least one side with =
a plug in; mine has 2(cis-e).So what version of Bosch F.I. were each of =
these variants???.Also;is it possible to convert a CIS-E car over to a =
CIS system w/o a plug-in at the fuel dist.??? TIA! Ken R.
