you know, we may be able to save on alot of hotels (we - assuming i can come). theres a decent amt of scirocco guys sprinkled around there. Its a bit of a stretch, but i have family in rome and possibly north italy, if you were thinking of getting that far south.

well, for a car that old I think its easy to "sneak' in, at least from the conversations we had back when that topic came up.
As for crashing at Dirks, we might for a day or two, but for the most part we will not be since we will be in other parts of the country!

didnt dirk have a buddy with a warehouse full of mk1's? some of which needed to go to a good home? i may consider coming along to bring a mk1 back with me. (or perhaps a hornstein mk2, if i could find a beat up one to restore). so... how would we get said german titled car transferred over to the states and registered here? whose got info on this?

shit, I know as well as most of the list that you wouldn't be able to go, you have to many ties, plus Daffy would probably kick all our ass's. :P
that response was more in the way of pointing out to other listers that the costs really are not to bad.
3000$ for about a 3 week trip to Europe and Germany isnt that bad! heck a rental car for that time period will run over 1000$ (closer to 1300), and you wouldn't have a 10th of the fun as ripping in a Scirocco!!!

man you have no idea of what being married with 4 kids does to your life .......there are just some things.....screw some things........a lot of things that you just have to accept you can not do and will not be able to do because of sacrifices that have to be made.......now I know that Josh is just screwing around with me and that is cool I am not bothered by his comments he is just kidding
but the sell the kids or that's why I am not married comments get a little old. It is cool if you feel that way about marriage and kids but I do not. Cars are just that and a family is the real important thing.
just keep in mind in thirty years what is going to make you more happy....your family and grandkids or the rocc......yeah I know the comments will come back for the rocc from some people but oh well
and on another note your car will never try to put you in a old folks home ....your car doesn't want you in a home, just the poor house

shit, start saving now, you have 6 months! And if you split the cost with another person (say you and Brett take his car) that takes about 1250$ off the shipping, then splitting hotel rooms, and splitting gas/etc.
Heck, I bet 2 people can do this for 3000$ each (that includes some play money of course!) that's only 125$ a week! And if you do what Im going to do, and that's to only have half in "cash" and use a Credit Card for the other half, that means you only need about $60 a week!!!!
