Hmmm... Aside from doing it custom I don't think you have any options. I
checked in my books here, and there's no adapter that's anything like that.
Adapting a 5 1/4 to a 6 1/2 isn't bad, but going from 4x6 to 6" isn't going
to happen. You simply have to make a plate. It shouldn't be too hard, and
it's defenately a good idea. 4x6 is a horrible size and you won't get any
low end responce from it. I always just make up a fiberglass pod that aims
up towards me, but then I work at a car stereo shop.

Fiberglassing really isn't hard and I could walk you through making a simple
pod if you'd like. Hell I can even make a set and ship em to you. If a pod
isn't an option, just make up a plate yourself. You'll probably have to
gut out the stock 4x6 hole, and just open it up as much as you can. Take the
doorpanel off of course, get a sheet of ABS plastic, and cut out the
desired shape.

A day should do it! Let me know if you need more help.

Vince

Subject: Where to get speaker mounting extensions?

Now that I'm on a tight budget, I need to find some way of installing my
6.5" JLs in the door of my cabby. I would really like to find a way to put
them where the 4x6s go so I can keep the pocket. I know I've seen mounting
plates in the past that would provide the added depth, but I checked
Crotchfield and found nothing. Anybody have an idea where to look? Vince?

  Thanks in advance -

  Jeff
