[More] Suspension Questions

I am finally getting a new suspension. These suspension questions are as common as what spark plugs and motor oil to use, but please bear w/me.

I am getting KYB shocks, and am having a hard time deciding what springs to use. I got a set of used HOR sport springs from a fellow lister, but don't really wanna lower the car. The streets here have huge potholes. I am leaning towards just putting the stock springs back on w/the KYB struts. Is that a bad idea? They still have good height and its a pretty cheap way out. Besides, if I put the HORs on, won't that increase the chance of the KYBs having a shorter life?
